The images
from the satellite and the airborne sensors that are included in the ResourceView
Products are geometrically rectified to correspond to a map projection and
reference ellipsoid chosen by the customer.
The correction is performed with ground control points from maps or GPS measurements.
The quality of the control points directly affects the accuracy of the rectified
image. Using a high quality digital elevation model (DEM) reduces the local
terrain displacement errors due to registration angle and terrain hilliness.
Overall rms error of the image will typically be within 0.5 to 1 nominal pixel
size under the assumption that the GCP's has the same accuracy, and that the
terrain does not significantly deviates from the DTM.
The images from the digital sensors are also radiometrically corrected by applying
calibration coefficients to each individual detector in the sensor.
